Life can get a bit heavy sometimes. Challenging circumstances and events pop up that can really throw us off balance. How we get through these times depends very much on what resources we have at our disposal and on our life perspective.
I have experienced pain and dissappointment. I know what it is to go through hard times but I also know what it is to be carried and comforted through it all too. In 2006, at the age of 32 I was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer in the larynx. I underwent radical surgery which left me with a permanent tracheotomy and without vocal chords. What I took into this battle was a strong support network of family and friends. They surrounded me with an abundance of love and prayer. The most important thing that got me through and continues to give me hope, purpose and joy, is my faith. My faith is in my personal Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Whatever hardship I go through I am confident that I am not alone. I am convinced of His love for me and that my future is secure.
I started this little blog because I love to write. Writing is for me, a way of connecting with God and organising my often scattered thoughts. I've been known to churn out verse at strange hours of the night and I have journals full of stories of life, love, faith and hope... a treasury of lessons learnt over recent years that have helped me grow in my faith and deepened my love for my God. I don't have it all worked out; my God is way too big for my mere mind to fully comprehend. His ways are so mysterious to me but of 3 things I am certain. My faith is real, I am loved and with God there is always hope.
I may not have a voice larger than a whisper but I hope that the words I write here will be my voice in the world, encouraging you to see that you too are very much loved; there is hope and a purpose to your life through Jesus...and no matter what... Never, ever give up! This is the bright side.
Thanks for dropping by.. enjoy and be blessed!

About me...
I am Trish. I've been married to my wonderful husband Ray for 17 years. We have 3 delightful offspring! 2 sons aged 15 & 12 and our daughter is 13. We spent 5 amazing years working with the Baptist Union of PNG and have recently returned home to Perth, Western Australia.
I love lazy Sunday mornings, bubble baths, Sunflowers, chocolate and sand between my toes. I try new recipes when guests are coming over... mostly with success! and my favourite people have the loudest laughs and softest hearts. :)
